The company has the vision to organize unique nature-related trips that are carefully planned to ensure the best experience and memories are made. Based in a town named Umkomaas (South Africa) our company operates primarily within the Marine Protected Area of Aliwal Shoal and offers rare activities within the surrounding areas of Umkomaas
Aliwal Shoal is a well known ancient reef structure that has a large variety of both big and small species, making any day an exciting one. Particularly famous for regular sightings of sharks, Aliwal Shoal is one of the few places in the world that guarantee shark sightings on every trip.
Ever Changing Tides & Conditions
With the climate being around 80% sunshine and generally fair weather conditions, there is a rare chance of cancelation from time to time, and disappointment do take place. Summer and winter are our two seasonal species groups that are labeled in terms of what to expect during the years sightings.
November-April being our summer months, 20-25°C clean water gets pushed down south from the north bringing in tropical species of pelagic fish. Tiger and Zambezi sharks are commonly seen on baited dives with all sorts to be seen on the reef dives, a few favourites being the giant mantas, common and bottlenose dolphins, turtles and occasionally the whale sharks
May-October are our winter months, 17-22°C water gets pushed up north from the south bringing in the cold water species. Ragged-tooth sharks (sand tigers) are viewed on most areas of the reef sheltering near overhangs, ledges, and caves. The sardine run taking place during this period, a variety of apex predators arrive to join in the feast.
